A brief (7.5 minute) meditation video slideshow of my art. It will balance and relax you. Perfect to watch on break at the office, in preparation for an important meeting or just because... Songlines are an intricate series of song cycles that identify landmarks for navigating the Outback of Australia. By singing the songs in the appropriate sequence, indigenous peoples can navigate vast distances. A wise friend observed that the meandering trails of dots that are found in many of my paintings feel like these Songlines. I loved the term, and the concept resonates deeply with me. I have had the privilege of working with an amazing group of young adults for the past few months. I have been teaching art classes twice a week at Choices Counseling Center in Winter Park, and it has been such a profound experience for me. These students are on their way back to wholeness (aren't we all?) and art is one way for them to get to know themselves, and hopefully accept and like themselves, a little better.
I created this 4.5 minute video for them, in honor of their courage to face what wasn't working in their lives and change it for the better. Sit back, Click and Enjoy!
